Merle A. Thalheimer, age 81, of Liberty, Indiana and a former longtime resident of Brookville, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his home in Liberty, on April 16, 2026 following a lengthy illness.
Born July 29, 1944 in Cedar Grove, Indiana, he was one of three sons born to the late Cletus William & Kathryn (Bradley) Thalheimer. On January 15, 1977 he and the former Carolyn Mergenthal Morgan were united in marriage and she survives.
Merle retired from the former Ford/Visteon in Connersville where he was employed for over 30 years.
Besides Carolyn, his loving wife of over 49 year, survivors include three children, Duane Thalheimer, David Morgan, and Stephanie McKinney; four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald L. Thalheimer who died April 21, 2001, and Marvin R. Thalheimer who died November 13, 2009.
Private services will be held with burial at Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville.
