Earl Edward Anders, 87 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on April 17, 2026. He was born on August 8, 1938, in Shelbyville, Indiana, the son of Emery and Mabel (Chappelow) Anders. Earl was a graduate of St. Paul High School and proudly served his county in the United States Air Force.
On June 24, 1961, Earl married Evelyn Powers, and together they built a loving family, raising two children, Eddie and Rose. He dedicated over 28 years of his professional life working as a manager for General Electric and Wellman before his retirement.
Earl will be remembered for his steady dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, and the values he carried throughout his life.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Evelyn Anders, his son Eddie (Rhonda) Anders; his daughter Rose Bratcher; his grandchildren, Jason (Krystle) Truitt, Christopher and Matthew (Camryn) Anders and his great grandchildren Elijah and Lillian Anders, Hope and Gabriel Truitt, and finally his two twin sisters, Lana Dalton and Rantha McHenley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son-in-law, Randy Bratcher and his brothers, Jerry Anders, Virgil Anders, and Glenn Anders.
Earl will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at 2:00 pm at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home. Rev. Ted Chalk will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Van Pelt Cemetery in Waldron, Indiana. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
