Butler University Men’s Basketball has brought back Thad Matta as its head coach. Matta was a former player in the late 1980s and coached the Bulldogs during the 2000-01 season.
He left Butler for three very successful 26-win seasons at Xavier and a trio of NCAA tournament appearances. From there, he took over the Ohio State program from 2004 through 2017. Under his tenure in Columbus, the Buckeyes made the NCAA tourney nine times, won five Big Ten regular season championships and four Big Ten Tournament titles.
