Mary Rose (Fox) Perkins, aged 66, of Batesville, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024. A native of New Alsace, Mary attended St. Paul’s Elementary School and Catholic Church and was a proud graduate of East Central High School. After a chance meeting on a blind date, Mary married Mike Perkins, and together they raised their three daughters in her childhood home built by her father. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, known for her hard work, resourcefulness, and unwavering support for her family. She worked for many years as a third shift custodian for Sunman Dearborn Community Schools. Although she enjoyed playing euchre online, watching the tv show Heartland and looking for hummingbirds out her front windows in her free time, her family jokes that her favorite hobby was online shopping, where she was always on the lookout for new ‘treasures’. A loyal Cincinnati sports fan, Mary never missed a chance to cheer on the Reds and Bengals.
Mary is survived by her husband of 47 years, Mike; daughters Krista (Rich) Collins, April (David Barricklow) Perkins, and Anna Batta; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; siblings Sonny (Mary Jane) Fox, Irvin (Rosie) Fox, Irene Stenger, Virginia (Teddy) Graf, and Rita Mae (Phil) Booker. She is preceded in death by her stepson Michael Perkins Jr. and parents Russell & Rita (Fette) Fox.
Visitation for Mary will be held on Saturday, January 20 at Andres-Wuestefeld Funeral Home from 10:00am – 11:30am followed by a prayer service at 11:30am. It is the wishes of the family for this to be for immediate family only, including Mary’s siblings, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Memorials will be accepted at the visitation or can be mailed to the funeral home. Family and friends are encouraged to leave condolences at www.andres-wuestefeldfh.com.
