Marita M. Fasbinder

Marita M. Fasbinder, age 75 of Batesville, Indiana, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Born March 9, 1948, in Greensburg, Indiana, she is the daughter of Lucille (Nee:  Spicer) and William Meadows.  She married John C. Fasbinder on September 7, 1968, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville and he preceded her in death October 21, 2018.  Marita was a Den Mother and served on the District Board for the Boys Scouts.  She was a library volunteer at Batesville Primary School and served 1,600 hours of volunteer work at Margaret Mary Health.

Marita loved to go fishing and camping and to do all types of crafts.  She enjoyed the time spent with her friends at Romweber Flats playing Yahtzee and Bingo and would often bake cookies for those events.

To say she was an Elvis fan was an understatement as she had a large collection of his memorabilia.  She loved to cook, with Pot Roast being a family favorite.

Marita’s true passion was her family. She enjoyed her dinners with Scott and Lee Ann.  She loved spending every other weekend with Tony in Batesville and would prepare meals for him to take back with him to Bedford.  Marita loved going on trips with her husband John and son Tony and especially enjoyed her time spent visiting her grandchildren in Michigan and Ohio.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Scott and Lee Ann Fasbinder of Batesville, John D. and Kendra Fasbinder of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Christopher and Kimberly Fasbinder of Columbus, Ohio; brother and sister-in-law Charles and Debbie Meadows of Greensburg; grandchildren Emmery, Cayleigh, Cole, and Jessica Fasbinder.  In addition to her parents and husband, Marita was preceded in death by her son Anthony Fasbinder, sister Velma Miller, brother Clarence Meadows and grandson Chase Fasbinder.

Visitation is Friday, September 15th, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville.  Funeral services follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev.
