Laurel, IN — A Brookville man is facing several charges after he was allegedly found slumped over a steering wheel.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to a home on Edgerton Street in Laurel recently on a report of an unconscious man slumped over the steering wheel of a pickup truck.
Deputies say they found drug paraphernalia in the vehicle next to 44-year-old Kevin J. Pflum Jr.
After waking him up, Pflum allegedly resisted arrest before he was taken into custody.
Pflum was lodged at the Franklin County Security Center on the following charges: Possession of Methamphetamine, Operating a Vehicle as a Habitual Traffic Offender (both Level 6 felonies), Resisting Law Enforcement, Possession of a Controlled Substance (both Class A misdemeanors) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Class C misdemeanor).
Pflum was released after posting a bond in the amount of $1,055 and is awaiting his initial court appearance.
If convicted of a level 6 felony, Pflum could face up to two and a half years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines.
Once the investigation is completed, deputies will forward their findings to the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office for consideration of what, if any, formal charges will be filed.
