
(Milan, IN) – Johnnie Ray Smith of Milan is scheduled to stand trial late this year in Ripley Superior Court on charges he illegally entered a home last week.
Smith is charged with Residential Entry (Level 6 felony), Possession of Marijuana (Class B misdemeanor) and Possession of Paraphernalia (Class C misdemeanor).
He allegedly entered the Milan area residence occupied by a man and and his wife, but Smith ended up being held at gunpoint by the husband until Ripley County Sheriff’s deputies arrived and made the arrest.
An Indiana State Police trooper and a Milan Police officer also responded.
Smith is locked up in the Ripley County Jail on $5,000 cash bond.
He was ordered by Judge Jeffrey Sharp not to have any contact with the victims.
A jury trial is set for December 16.
