(Ohio County, IN) – A man is dead following a two-vehicle crash involving a car and a combine Monday evening in Ohio County.
According to the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the 5100 block of Milton Bear Branch Road around 6:30 pm.
Investigators determined that a car driven by Vernon Smith of Cincinnati crashed into the front tire of a harvesting combine operated by Tim Colen of Switzerland County while the two vehicles were traveling in opposite directions.
Smith was taken to UC Hospital in Cincinnati, where he died from his injuries.
Colen was not injured.
The investigation is ongoing.
Ohio County deputies were assisted at the scene by the Bear Branch and Rising Sun fire departments and Rising Sun EMS.
