Batesville, IN— Early Wednesday morning, the Batesville Police responded to a suspicious activity call at the Quality Inn on State Road 46 East. Upon their arrival, they were directed by staff to a room occupied by a male and female.
Upon further investigation, the officers located a loaded handgun with 2 extra magazines, two bags allegedly containing large chunks of crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine, several small baggies of suspected marijuana, paraphernalia, multiple hypodermic syringes, and multiple tablets determined to be Oxycodone Hydrochloride.
The male occupant, identified as Thomas E. Stumpf, 42, of Dillsboro was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Paraphernalia.
