Lorene M. (Morehead) Gibbs

Lorene M. Gibbs 77, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2020 in Erlanger, KY surrounded by family.

She was born August 4, 1943 in Dearborn County, IN, daughter of the late Roscoe Morehead and Irene (Wise) Morehead.

Lorene enjoyed playing Bingo. She loved her family and especially loved spending time with her grandkids. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be missed by many friends and family.

Lorene is survived by her loving family sons, Darryl (Jamie) Gibbs of Dillsboro, IN, Bryan (Tracy) Gibbs of Aurora, IN; daughters, Patricia (Billy) Gibson of Rising Sun, IN, Cheryl Gibbs of Aurora, IN; sisters, Dorothy Scurvin of Warsaw, KY, Edna Morehead of Aurora, IN; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by father, Roscoe Morehead, mother, Irene (Wise) Morehead, husband, Dallas Gibbs, siblings, Clayton F. Morehead, Gerald Morehead, Rosetta J. Eversman, Alberta Crawford, Junior Morehead, Lavern Turner, Linda Morehead, Leroy Morehead, and infant brother

 

Friends will be received Friday, August 21, 2020, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, Indiana.

Services will be held at the Funeral Home, Friday at 1:00 pm.officiated by Pastor David Hall.

Interment will follow in the Ebenezer Baptist Cemetery, Aurora, IN.

Contributions may be made to the Aurora Fire Dept. or American Cancer, Relay For Life (Team: Hero’s For Life). If unable to attend services, please call the funeral home office at (812) 926-1450 and we will notify the family of your donation with a card.

Due to the current situation dealing with COVID-19, we are following the directives from Governor Holcomb and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention concerning large events and mass gatherings. The family deeply appreciates the support and love shown from friends, but the health and well being of everyone in our community is of top priority. We are asking everyone who will be in attendance to please remember the social distancing guidelines at all times, and the wearing of masks is highly recommended.
