Loren A. Tebbe, age 92 of Greensburg, Indiana, died Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Aspen Place Healthcare in Greensburg. Born November 13, 1931, at home in Franklin County Indiana, he is the son of Theodore and Louise (Nee: Pulskamp) Tebbe. Loren married Dorothy Hiner August 18, 1961, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Crossroads. He worked at Bohn Aluminum for 40+ years before retiring in 1995.
Loren loved working on the farm and was known as an adamant animal lover. All the farm’s livestock got names and became pets…. albeit temporarily. Besides the farm animals, he also had a sweet spot for the family cats. Loren was a proud farmer who “loved to outdo” other local growers. He would sell his produce at the local farmer’s market in Batesville and later Greensburg. Loren appreciated hard work and survived by the moto “I live to work.” He was an avid Colts fan, enjoyed working jig saw puzzles and playing cards. When he retired from Bohn, he and Dot bought a van and took a five-week trip to Alaska, covering over 11,000 miles by the time they came home. It was a fond memory that he spoke of often.
He is survived by his son, Dennis (Carol) Tebbe of Greensburg, grandchildren Chris (Breanna) Tebbe of Batesville and Denise Tebbe of Osgood, Indiana, and seven great-grandsons. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Tebbe, sister Marjorie Bedel and brothers Orville, Wilmer, Cyril, Herschel, and Gerald Tebbe.
Visitation will be Friday, February 23rd, from 10 – 11 a.m. at Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville. A graveside service will follow at 11:15 a.m. at St. Louis Cemetery, with Fr. John Meyer officiating. The family requests memorials be made to the Decatur County Animal Shelter. For online condolences go to www.weigelfh.com.
