BROOKVILLE, IN — Former Franklin County Auditor and Town of Brookville Clerk-Treasurer Alberta “Bertie” Sauerland passed away on January 31 at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Ohio at age of 85.
Sauerland was appointed county auditor in 1974 and served through 1975, and was elected to the post in 1984 and served until 1991.
She was elected Brookville Clerk-Treasurer in 1992 and served in that role until her retirement in 2006.
Miss Sauerland will be laid to rest Saturday afternoon.
