Locals honor Wreaths Across America Day

Greensburg, IN — Wreaths Across America (WAA), is a national effort that grew thanks to a simple picture of wreaths laid at soldiers’ graves covered with snow at Arlington National Cemetery.

On December 19, wreaths are laid at 2,557 participating locations across America, most notably, at Arlington National Cemetery. The placement may have looked a little different this year without the ceremony, but the mission is the same as it was the very first time: Remember. Honor. Teach. 1,063 wreaths were laid locally thanks to Gilliland Howe Funeral Home and Machaela Cobbler, Miss Agribusiness Agvocate.

You can sponsor a wreath for $15 by clicking here. Each sponsorship goes toward a fresh balsam veteran’s wreath that will be placed on the headstone of an American hero as part of National Wreaths Across America Day.
