Local properties receive historic preservation grants

Batesville, In. — Three local properties are among seven selected to receive grants as part of the Historic Grant Program from the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs.

Depot Square in Batesville, Valley House Flats in Brookville and Acorn Hall in Greendale will each receive a $100,000 grant for exterior renovations. The work will include roof replacement, façade renovation, masonry restoration, window replacement and storefront upgrades.

The two-year-old grant program is designed to incentivize economic development and historical preservation. All seven properties are privately owned.
