Guilford, IN — All Saints Catholic Parish of northern Dearborn County hosted the 7th Annual Gobble Wobble 5K- Feeding the Hungry Run/Walk this past Thanksgiving morning.
As with most things in 2020, the race was a little different than the past to ensure participants had ample room to maintain their pace at a safe, social distance. The location was moved to the St. Leon American legion to a loop course, implemented multiple start times to prevent crowds, asked participants to wear masks at the start and finish line, added a virtual participation option, and hosted a Facebook live race results ceremony. The 5K attracted many walkers, runners, and volunteers, who were eager to help the less fortunate as well as burn off some calories prior to their Thanksgiving meal.
Thanks to the 63 sponsors and 1,074 participants, the event raised over $50,000 in proceeds, which have been distributed to the Sunman, North Dearborn, and East Central High School Food Pantries. This money will help them provide needed supplies for those less fortunate in our community.
