Lisa Crail

Lisa Anne (Herrmann) Crail was born on April 7, 1964 in Cincinnati, Ohio.  She was the youngest of 9 children born to Gilbert & Jeanne Herrmann and graduated from Mother of Mercy High School. Lisa passed away peacefully at Margaret Mary Hospice on Sunday, August 10, 2025 with her husband by her side.  Lisa met Jeff through an online dating app and they both quickly knew they found the right person for each other.  After only dating 8 months, they were married in 2005 and recently celebrated their 20- year anniversary and looked forward to spending many more years together in the house they built.  Between them they have 4 sons and 6 grandchildren.

Lisa was a compassionate person.  After she left her career as an HR manager, she focused on her passions.  These included organizing activities for seniors, working for Safe Passage that serves survivors of domestic and sexual violence, coordinating the compassionate care program for All Saints Parish, supporting and collecting donations for the needy, supporting various charities, and promoting local artists through her business platform.

Her compassion extended to animals.  Corgis were her dog breed of choice and she adopted one that had been abused.  She supported and volunteered as a transporter of corgis that needed rehabilitation and were sent to a sanctuary in Iowa.  She adopted two cats and raised chickens.  After learning that her one rooster was handicapped, she provided special attention by housing him indoors, prepared his meals, held him daily, and watched over him when he was outdoors.  Pampering her pets gave her joy.

Lisa, along with her siblings, are very gifted at creating and making artistic items.  Her dream was to open a specialty shop where she and local artists could sell their products.  That dream was fulfilled when she opened Zelda Jean’s Gift Shop in November 2021.  The building was constructed on her property where you could find her 7 days a week. The business sold local hand-crafted, repurposed, upcycled and vintage items from 28 different vendors.  She poured her heart and soul into her business and challenged herself to keep things fresh to keep her customers happy and coming back.  She enjoyed every aspect of her business and longed for the day to reopen its doors.

Lisa will be deeply missed by her husband, Jeff; son Corey Adams; step sons Brad (Saundra) Crail, Justin Crail, and Jake (Brittany) Crail; grandchildren Paisley, Brinley, Grayson, Presley, Audrey, and Layla; siblings Linda (Jimmy) Huffman, Phillip (Nancy) Herrmann, Denny (Pam) Herrmann, Jim (Shonda) Herrmann, Mary Herrmann, and Jeanne Roy; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Jeanne and Gilbert Herrmann and siblings Billy Herrmann and Tony Herrmann.
