Linda Jane Scudder

Linda Jane Scudder, 75, of Aurora, IN, left us peacefully on Saturday, February 15, 2025 surrounded by family. A beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Linda, or “Janie,” will always be remembered for her sugar cream pies and homemade fudge. She enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, crocheting, knitting and all things that were homemade. Every year during Thanksgiving she would work all night on making a dozen sugar cream pies to ensure that everyone would have a pie to take home. She was a devoted Grandma to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was born on April 23, 1949, in Connersville, Indiana, to the late Max and Mary (nee Wedding) Brothers.
Linda was a loving mother and grandmother who cherished her family deeply. She is survived by her son, Tom (Lisa) Perkins from Hamilton, OH; two daughters, Mary (Bob) Barron of Moores Hill, IN and Patricia (Raymond) Turner, of Aurora, IN; six grandchildren, Bradon (Kaylee) Perkins, Eric (Brilynn) Barron, Tara (Dan) Jackson, Alexandra (Danyelle) Hyden, James Barron (My-Van Dang), and Lauren Showalter; as well as thirteen great-grandchildren, Weston, Sophya, Pyper, Adri, Aleyce, Ari, Torin, Phoenyx, Royce, Jacob, Joseph, Rowen, and Emersyn. She is also survived by her brothers, Bobby Kampf, Bill Brothers, and Chuck Brothers and her sister, Kay Huffman.
Linda was preceded in death by two sisters, Joan Benko and Sussie Horning.
A private burial service to celebrate Janie’s life will be on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 11:00am at River View Cemetary located at 3635 E. Laughery Creek Road, Aurora, IN 47001. The family of Janie would like to invite everyone to dinner immediately following the service located at the Turner residence located at 204 Hillview Drive, Aurora, IN 47001.
