Linda Darlene Rethlake went to her much deserved eternal rest on Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14, 2025. She was born in Columbus, Indiana on Pearl Harbor Day in 1943, the daughter of Welba Clarence Raley and Stella Mae (Moore) Raley.
Darlene was the beloved wife of 61 years to Lowell, a mother to Mark and Bill and a grandmother to Shane, all of whom survive to cherish her memory.
Although some marriages fail, Lowell and Darlene grew to love each other more every year, holding each other’s hands through all those years.
Darlene was a talented homemaker, cook, quilt maker and seamstress. With a few pieces of cloth and a sewing machine, Darlene would use her creativity to make so many wonderful things, and she passed her incredible talent to her sons.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home in Greensburg on Friday, February 21st from 11 a.m. to the time of the funeral at 1 p.m., with Father John Meyer officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
