Indianapolis, in. — Republican Indiana state senator jean Leising co-chaired the Rural Caucus meeting at the Indiana State Fair this week. The group of more than 20 senators and representatives meets at the fair each year to discuss and learn about agricultural issues faces the state.

“The Rural Caucus allows lawmakers in Indiana’s rural areas to come together to discuss and study the issues affecting our local communities,” Leising said. “This year, we learned more about the lack of broadband in rural Indiana as well as the opioid epidemic plaguing our state. Each topic we discussed will help prepare us as we author legislation during the upcoming session.”
