(Southeastern IN) – Parts of Southeastern Indiana are in an extreme drought, according to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor map (pictured).
Portions of Ripley and Dearborn counties and the southeastern most corner of Franklin County are listed under extreme drought conditions.
The map released Thursday shows other places around the area are in a moderate-to-severe drought.
Much of the state is also classified as being in a severe drought, while other areas have the “abnormally dry” designation.
