Versailles, In — Early Monday morning, the Friendship Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched for the report of a tree on the road in the area of County Road 750 South and 175 East. Overnight winds in the area were upwards of 40 mph while the ground was saturated from melting snow. This lead to several reports of downed limbs throughout the region
When crews responded to the scene, it was found that a fairly large tree had fallen and caused the roadway to be blocked. The tree was cut into a few pieces and then removed by heavy equipment from the Ripley County Highway Department. Mutual aid was provided at the scene by the Ripley County Sherriff’s Department.
