Aurora, IN — The Indiana Department of Transportation has announced lane closures beginning on or after Friday, April 30, on the U.S. 50 bridge over Hogan Creek in Aurora for a deck overlay and rehabilitation project. Drivers should expect traffic disruptions throughout the day Friday for signal adjustments near the bridge.
All other work will take place in four phases under various traffic restrictions. Travel lanes will be reduced to 11 feet in width.
Phase 1 (beginning on or after Friday, April 30): Removal of center concrete curb, weekend lane closures from 7 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday.
Phases 2 and 3 (beginning early May): Deck overlay and rehabilitation work, lane closures for up to nine days per phase.
Phase 4 (beginning late May): Replace center concrete curb, weekend lane closures from 7 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday.
The $1.3 million contract was awarded in February to Milestone Contractors, L.P., and is expected to be complete in late May or early June, weather permitting.
Motorists are reminded to slow down, use extra caution, and drive distraction-free in and near all work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
