Lady Wildcats Winners Over Lady Tigers

The Wildcats were able to come out on top in a close, back-and-forth battle with the Lawrenceburg Tigers Monday evening by a final score of 9-4. The Wildcats offense was firing on all cylinders throughout the game as they had 13 hits on the game, en route to 9 runs on offense. The pitching was also strong for Franklin County as the Wildcats earned their eighth win of the season.

The Wildcats were steadily scoring one run per inning as the Wildcats put up a run in the second, third, fourth, and fifth innings to build a 4-2 lead heading into the sixth inning. Lawrenceburg would threaten to take the lead in the sixth inning, but Kay Kay Ferman would come in for relief for the Wildcats in the sixth and keep it tied heading into the top of the seventh.

Then in the seventh, the Wildcats exploded for 5 runs to take the lead for good, making the score 9-4. The Tigers would be sent down in order in the seventh inning to give Franklin County the victory.

Camryn Brewer got the start for the Wildcats in the circle and pitched a strong game. Brewer received a no-decision in her start, going 5+ innings with 4 runs (2 earned), on 8 hits, and 3 strikeouts. Michaela Ferman would come in to finish the game for the Wildcats and get credit for the win. Ferman would throw 2 innings, allowing 0 runs, 2 hits, and 2 strikeouts.

Franklin County will look to win back-to-back games tomorrow as they travel to Rushville for a Varsity/JV double header. First pitch of the varsity game is scheduled for 5:30 pm.
