Lady Wildcats Spikers Battle Lady Lions In Season Opener

The Franklin County Lady Wildcats lost our season opener to the Rushville Lady Lions tonight in 3 sets. 25-16, 25-20, 25-23

‘We got off to a slow start but had great intentions of coming out on top with all 3 sets. We just didn’t come together tonight as we do in practice. Some might say first game jitters. I think we need to get a little more vocal on the court myself. I know this group of girls has the potential to do great things!’ Wildcats Coach Jill Mergenthal.

Charlotte Barrett had 1 ace serve, 4 kills and 3 digs. Rachel Bischoff had 1 ace serve, 1 kill and 2 digs. Jalynn Rogers had 1 ace serve and 4 digs. Makyah Richardson had 2 kills and 1 block. Rae Ertel had 1 kill. Kelly Layton had 2 kills, and 4 assists. Audrey Reister had 1 kill and 2 assists. We are at home again Tuesday, Aug. 20th against Hagerstown. JV begins at 5:30 and Varsity follows. Come out and cheer on your Lady Cats!! We Are FC!!!

Franklin County JV opened up their season last night facing EIAC opponent Rushville. The girls started strong winning the match in 2 sets. 25-24, 25-19

We had a strong front row with kills coming from Jenna Bruns, Josie Rolfes, Alex Gillman, and Meredith Hoff. Meredith Hoff also gave us a run of 12 serves with 3 aces in the second set. I can’t wait to see what this team can do this year. Tonight we take on Hagerstown at home at 5:30! We are FC!

The FC Freshman Wildcats won their opening game tonight against the Rushville Lions in two sets! Leading the team in aces was Kassidy Schell with 5, Kiersten Schell with 3, and Lauren Stacy with 2. Kayla Baker had 3 digs and Macy Crain has 2 kills. The team worked hard for their win, and I’m excited to see where we go from here! We are FC!
