The Greensburg Lady Pirates home opener was spoiled by the Lady Shiners of Rising Sun as they dominated the match winning 10-0.
The visitors tallied 33 total shots to the Lady Pirates 8 while using their speed and skill to create numerous breakaways and one-on-one opportunities for shots. An 8-0 halftime lead was fueled by creative runs and quick counter attacks when the Lady Pirates could not maintain possession.
Taking shots for the home squad were Sierra Huffman, Abby Easley, Emma Porter, Emma Hellmich, Katelynn Hall, and Katie Beam. The defensive squad of Porter, Keirsten Lynette, Sarah Schneider, Alaina Nobbe, and Takisha Lee forced 7 offside traps. Emily Lowe made 7 saves while allowing 8 goals and Lynette made 13 saves while allowing 2 goals.The Lady Pirates will be in action Thursday when they travel to EIAC opponent and Class 2A #16 ranked South Dearborn on Thursday.
