The Lady Chargers opened conference play up on Friday night against visiting Waldron and came away with the win 75-49.
Both teams got things going offensively in the first half scoring 32 and 29. Waldron would score at the end of each of the first two quarters to keep things close.
However, it was the second half of action that saw North Decatur’s defense crank up the heat and the offense did not miss a beat to outpace the Mohawks 43-20 in the second half.
Ella Kunz led the Chargers with 28 points and Madi Allen added 16.
Kelsey Haley chipped in 12 and Sydney Rohls contributed 10 for ND.
Thackery, Jo Whitaker, Kinker, and Emma Schoettmer also got into the scoring column on the evening.
The win improves North Decatur to 7-5 (1-0). Waldron drops to 5-7 (3-1).
North will be on the road Tuesday night against Columbus East. The Chargers and Olympians met 6 times in sectional play history prior to class basketball.
