In a hard-fought battle for the Sectional 59 championship, the North Decatur Lady Chargers were defeated by South Decatur, 49-39, on Saturday night. The Lady Chargers end their season with a record of 17-9, while South Decatur, improving to 15-11, claimed their first sectional title since 2008. South Decatur will now face Oldenburg Academy this weekend.
Despite the loss, North Decatur’s seniors—Madi Allen, Kelsey Haley, Ally Whitaker, Brooke Mauer, Emma Schoettmer, and Clare Kinker—have left a lasting legacy on the program. Their leadership and dedication to excellence will be greatly missed as they move on to the next chapter.
