The North Decatur Chargers defeated their sectional rival South Ripley by the final score of 57-39 on Saturday night. The win marked the 5th ever-sectional championship for North Decatur. The team also matched a 31-year-old record by the 1993 team with 18 wins in a season. North Decatur’s effort and energy for the entire game was too much for the Lady Raiders to contend with. After a slow and methodical first quarter of action, North’s offense kicked in to help build the lead to as many as 19 points. South Ripley would claw back into the game and cut the lead to as few as 7 points before North took command back to pull away with the 18-point victory.
Here is the scoring:
Madi Allen – 19 points
Ella Kunz – 15 points
Kelsey Haley – 15 points
Sydney Rohls – 4 points
Carmen Thackery – 4 points
Free Throws: ND 12/18, SR 1/4
