Lady Cardinals Sweep Lady Mohawks

The 7th Grade Lady Cardinal defeated the Waldron Mohawk in 2 exciting sets. 25-24, 25-24. The Cardinals came out strong with 5 strong serves from Rachel Suttmann. After that, the Cardinals had to work hard on the court to push this first set to the end. The second set started off slow until Jaelyn Owens served 6 straight points. The girls covered the court well to stay close with the Mohawks to pull out the win. Rachel Suttmann led the team with 10 points followed by Jaelyn Owens 8 points, Ashley Hunter 3 points, Cora Roth 2 points and Kalli Obermeyer 1 point. Sophia Hohenstein played the net solid with several tips. Lucy Abplanalp and Cora Roth both had a kill to lead the offense. 

The St. Louis 8th Grade Volleyball team topped the 8th grade Waldron Mohawks 25-18, 25-14. The Cardinals started off slow in the first set falling behind 6 points quickly. The Cards kept their composure to battle back 1 point at a time. Once they battle back to the top in the first set, the girls stayed on top even through the second set. Lilly Schebler led the team with 10 points. Kate Weber contributed 8 points, Isabelle Wonnell 6 points, Catherine Streator 5 points, Rhea Miller 3 points and Ella Moster and Claire Saner 1 point each. The back row defense by Ingrid Tuveson, Maggie Beiser and Ava Owens passed the ball well to help set up the offense. Catherine Streator commanded the net with 8 hits, Isabelle Wonnell 7 hits and Kate Weber 6 hits.
