The 7th Grade Lady Cardinal St. Louis Volleyball team suffered their second loss of season to the Sunman Dearborn Lady Trojans 19-25 21-25. The score of the game did not reflect the positive part of the game for the Cardinals. The girls served well to keep the game close and began moving themselves behind the ball to pass it to their teammates. The top server was Cora Roth with 7 points followed by Ashley Hunter with 5 points, Rachel Suttmann with 3 points, Sophia Hohenstein with 2 points and Lucy Abplanalp and Kalli Obermeyer with 1 point each. Hohenstein and Suttmann controlled the offense with 3 and 1 spike respectively. Jaelyn Owens supported the team with her defense skills.
The St. Louis Cardinals 8th Grade Volleyball team defeated the Sunman Dearborn Lady Trojans in 3 sets 9-25, 25-19, 15-13. The Lady Cardinals worked hard together to push out this win. Team work won this game. The team started off slow but in the second set stepped up their game to overcome the Trojans. Isabelle Wonnell led the Cardinals with 16 points. Ava Owens & Lilly Schebler served up 3 points each along with Catherine Streator 2 points and Ella Moster and Kate Weber 1 point each. Weber and Wonnell controlled the offense with their setting skills and spiking the ball to the opponent. Claire Saner and Streator was tough on defense at the net as Ingrid Tuveson, Maggie Beiser and Rhea Miller supported the team in the backrow.
