Batesville sweeps county titles.
The Batesville JV Volleyball team captured the Ripley County Tourney by defeating Jac-Cen-Del 25-19, 25-9 in the opener and Milan 25-22, 25-24 in the championship game. In the J-C-D game, Belle Wolters set the pace from the service line earning 10 points including 5 aces in 13 attempts. Katie Bedel pounded 5 kills to lead the offensive attack with Nikki Fox and Shelby Westerfeld chipping in with 3 a piece. In the championship game, Fox led all servers with 10 points including 2 aces. Bedel dominated with 9 kills including one for a huge momentum swing in the closing points of the match. The team improves to 9-4 with the wins.
On the Varsity side, The Lady Dogs took minimum sets to complete the sweep.
Jac-Cen Del was the first sweep of the day, Milan the second, however the Indians didn’t go down without a fight in set #2. Serving top performers for the day were #20 Jenna Ertel going 100% on nine serves while #7 Kylie Laker racked up 9 Aces, only to be outdone by #17 Abigail Westerfeld with 13 Aces. Attack wise #23 Hattie Westefeld had 26 Kills and only errors and #5 Macy Prickel had 25 kills and 4 errors. Rounding out the top performers were #7 Kylie Laker with 35 Assists & Jenna Ertel with 17 digs.

Batesville will welcome East Central on Monday night with a 5:00pm start for JV & Freshman.
