Lady Bulldogs Get back On Track With Win Over Lady Wildcats

The Batesville Lady Bulldogs improved 7-0 in EIAC conference play on Wednesday night as they defeated the Franklin County Lady Wildcats 4-0. Batesville took a 1-0 lead into halftime after Georgia Gratz found Lauren Gutzwiller unmarked on the left wing and Gutzwiller connected with a rocket shot past the keepers gloves for the score.
In the second half, Batesville did a better job of passing and moving the ball which creates better scoring opportunities. Carlie Werner scored a hat trick in the second half off assists from Denise Davalos and Hailey Mohr (2).
The defense recorded their 7th shutout of the season behind solid play from Lily Meyer,  Abbey Prickel, Liz Heidlage, and Ella Gutzwiller. Olive Cerniglia recorded two saves in goal to help preserve the shutout.
Batesville is back in action on Thursday as they host the Greenwood Lady Woodmen. Varsity game time is 6:00 with a half of JV following.
