From Coach Prickel. The Batesville JV earned a solid road win over Connersville on Saturday morning by the scores 25-24, 25-16. Nikki Fox was the top point getter with 13 points including 2 aces. Katie Bedel chipped in 5 service points. Bedel led the offense with 9 kills in the front line. Freshman Shelby Westerfeld stepped up to earn 4 kills at the net in 10 attempts. Kerigan Haskamp recorded 2 stuff blocks, while Shalee Harrington and Grace Sarringhaus each had 1. Grace Laudick was the top performer in serve receptions and digs with 13 each. The team is now 5-3.
In the Varsity match it was another barn burner five set sloberknocker… We knew going in we would have to fix the 15 service errors that defeated us the last time we met the spartans. We cut that in half, but committed twice as many blocking errors to put us behind. The Lady Spartans hung with us every set to allow us to make the errors needed to pull out the win. Scores were 25-17, 22-25, 25-22, 19-25, 12-15. #23 Hattie Westerfeld led the attack with 14 kills, while next closet was #5 Macy Prickel with 7. #7 Kylie Laker led directed the offense with 34 of the 35 assists.
We will Welcome the Lady Tigers from Lawrenceburg on Tuesday August 28th while the Freshman team will play Community Christian of Connersville. All games start @5:00 @ The Dog Pound!
