The Batesville 8th Grade Lady Bulldogs started their season with a win last night against Waldron 31-26.
They played great defense to overcome an 11-5 first quarter deficit. Going into halftime they found themselves down 14-11. The defense kicked in for the 3rd quarter winning that one 12-6. They kept up the intensity to also win the 4th quarter 7-6. Final score was 31-26.
Scoring for the Bulldogs were Shalee Harrington 8, Chloe Saler 6, Catherine Raab 5, Denise Davalos 4, Paige Oldham 3, Katie Brewer 2, Kenzie Laker 2, and Callie Main 1.
The 7th grade Lady Bulldogs suffered their first loss of the season last night at the hands of an experienced Waldron team 43-20.
Despite being outscored 34-6 in the first and third quarters, the ladies continued to work hard and bounced back in the second and forth out scoring Waldron 14-9.
Leading the charge offensively was Ashley Nobbe with 8 points followed by Katie Shane and Breanna Wells with 4 points each. Rounding out the scoring with 2 points each was Gabrielle Elston and Carley Pride.
