Kristy Sams, 38, of Milan passed away Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Margaret Mary Health in Batesville. Kristy was born Wednesday, April 29, 1981 in Fort Worth, Texas, the daughter of Lowell and Sharon (Coker) Johnson. Kristy was a member of Bridge of Hope. She was a wonderful mom dedicated to her children, being a cheerleading coach, softball coach, a dance mom, football mom (friends of football) senior mom 2019, baseball mom, girls on the run and helped her children with 4-H projects for the Ripley County Fair, enjoyed laminating t-shirts, she enjoyed going to the ocean and loved her family dearly. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and the Milan Community.
Kristy is survived by her son Dakota Sams; daughter Brianna Sams; mother Sharon Johnson all of Milan; father of children David Sams of Osgood; brother Matt (Justina) Johnson of Milan; Grandmother Dorothy Coker of Fort Worth, TX; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces: Jessa, Lily, Mickayla and Shelbie; and nephews: Jeremiah, Riley, Evan, Blake and Reide. She was preceded in death by her father Lowell Johnson; son Mason Carl Sams; grandparents Carl & Bertha Johnson and grandfather Bill Coker.
A service celebrating her life will be held 3 PM Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Bridge of Hope, 4050 E County Road 50 S, Milan, IN 47031, with Pastor Doug Norman officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. Family and friends may gather to share and remember her 11 AM – 3 PM Wednesday also at the church.
