Kathleen E. Jones, age 82 of Batesville, Indiana, died Monday, June 26, 2023 at St. Andrew’s Health Campus in Batesville. Born July 12, 1940, she is the daughter of Viola (Nee: Stang) and Raymond Wahman. Kathleen was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and its Ladies Society and was a CNA at Margaret Mary Health and for the Sisters of St. Francis Convent for 30 years, before retiring.
Kathleen had many interests, she enjoyed reading, playing solitaire and dominoes, and crocheting. She also loved to watch red birds. She was a wonderful cook. Some of her best meals included fried chicken, mashed potatoes with white gravy, and chicken and dumplings. She also created an amazing variety of soups.
She was an extremely patient woman. Kathleen was a wonderful listener and gave good advice to others. Even while being limited with her mobility, she always told others, “Make the best of the day.”
Her faith was a very important part of her life. Kathleen adored time with her family. She especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter Melanie Jones of Batesville; son Michael Jones of Oldenburg, Indiana; brothers David (Laverne) Wahman, Robert (Cam) Wahman, Lynn (Kathy) Wahman and Tim (Becky) Wahman, all of Oldenburg; grandchildren Sara Nobbe, Chad Jones and Grace Jones; great-grandchildren Cole Jones, Luke Nobbe, Casey Jones, Leah Nobbe and Aurmiah Jones. Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 30th, from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Oldenburg. Funeral services follow at 11:30 a.m. at the church, with Rev. Carl Langenderfer OFM officiating. The burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oldenburg Eagle Fire Co. or to the Family to offset funeral expenses.
