Karin Sue (Rasnick) Walls, age 60, of Batesville, passed away January 20, 2024. The daughter of James William and Helen Ruth (Phillips) Rasnick, was born on June 13, 1963. Karin attended Batesville High School ultimately obtaining her GED, because she was a determined and proud person.
Although Karin was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis 37 years ago. She was determined to use her strength helping others. She raised her son Darrell Thomas Walls, and she became a proud Nana of two grandsons, Kasey Walls and Kruz Walls.
Karin volunteered at Hospitality Hall of Margaret Mary Hospital for several years supporting residents and their families. She then worked there as a unit clerk full time for 9 years. After leaving Hospitality Hall, Karin began working at the Château of Batesville, where she did a little bit of everything. In February 2018, Karin had to give up working due to her physical limitations.
Karin has been known to say that getting Multiple Sclerosis made her a better person. She has been a fighter and tough even until the end. We are proud to be her family. Karin has been an inspiration to a lot of people and has been able to help them carry their burdens. Karin never really knew the power she held. She enjoyed watching her grandsons play sports, and it was the highlight of her later years. Karin was a movie buff, a rocker and a fan of horror stories, especially Stephen King and AC/DC.
She will be dearly missed.
Karin is survived by her son, Darrell Walls and her grandchildren, Kasey and Kruz Walls. Other survivors include her sisters, Julie (Dick) Meer, Paula Rasnick, Tammy Allen, Pamela (Jerry) Wiedeman, two nieces and several nephews.
