GREENSBURG, IN — Greensburg Police K-9 Echo has been medically retired because of a series of leg issues, including a partially torn ACL.

The German Shepherd was born on March 30, 2017, and became a member of the Greensburg Police Department on December 19, 2018.

She had served alongside Sgt. Chris Bridges since being sworn in.

Echo and Sgt. Bridges were certified on January 12, 2019, in the detection of illegal drugs, narcotics, and tracking.

During her time on the force, Echo was deployed 87 times, which resulted in 62 arrests and 72 charges filed.

The department says she was extremely active with the public and was a regular at community cookouts, tours of police headquarters, and other events.

Echo will live in retirement with Bridges and his family.
