(Greensburg, IN) – A 16-year-old is facing multiple charges following a vehicle pursuit in Greensburg Thursday evening.
Greensburg Police say officers were called shortly before 8:30 pm to a leaving-the-scene-of-a-vehicle-accident report on the 1800 block of Montgomery Road.
The vehicle that left the scene of the accident was described as a blue single-cab pickup truck with a white sign on it.
A Decatur County Sheriff’s deputy spotted the vehicle leaving the Walmart parking and tried to pull the truck over but the driver fled the scene.
Police say the truck headed south on Middle Road and then into the Domino’s Pizza parking lot before crashing into the building.
The driver was arrested and treated by Decatur County EMS after complaining of pain in one of his legs.
No other injuries were reported.
While on the scene, officers were informed that the truck was reported stolen from the 100 block of South Franklin Street.
The Greensburg Fire Department was called to the scene to assess the structural stability of the Domino’s building.
After he was treated, the juvenile suspect was arrested and taken to the Bartholomew County Youth Center.
He is charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle; Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon: Resisting Law Enforcement with a Motor Vehicle (all Level 6 felonies): Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident (Class B misdemeanor); Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Ever Receiving a License, and Reckless Driving (all Class C misdemeanors).
