North Decatur boys varsity golf defeats Jac-Cen-Del

The Chargers boys varsity golf team played a home match against the Jac-Cen-Del Eagles Friday night. The team produced a team score of 158, making it five straight 9-hole matches with scores of 160 or lower. Jac-Cen-Del finished the night with a score of 197.

Carson Parmer earned medalist honors, starting out 3-over through his first three holes. However, Parmer was 4-under on his last 4 holes, with a 3-hole span of birdie, eagle, birdie to finish with a score of 35 (-1). Parmer has now shot 1-under par in each of his last three matches.

Jack Koehne was second overall. Koehne started out 5-over par, but was also able to birdie 2 of his last 3 holes to finish with a score of 39.

Austin Gould also had a 2 birdie night to end the match with a career-low score of 41.

Owen Eldridge rounded out the top 4 scores with a 43, and Cooper Parmer’s fifth score was a 46.

The JV also played tonight and won 204-219. Evan Yoder shot a career low 46, Brayden Yeager and Micah Smith shot 50, Mason Smith ended with a 58, and Scott Morford shot 61.

The Chargers play in the Mid-Hoosier Conference tournament Saturday morning as they look to win their third conference championship in a row.
