Joshua “Josh” William Simms, 41, of Milan passed away Monday, October 9, 2023 at his home with his loving family by his side after a 14-year battle with brain cancer. Josh was born on Wednesday, February 24, 1982 in Rochelle, Illinois; son of Anthony and Veda (Springs) Simms. Josh enjoyed working on vehicles and enjoyed trips to visit family and friends in Rochelle, Illinois. Most of all Josh loved spending time with his family.
Josh will be missed by his sons Cody Simms of Milan and Brandon Simms of Milan; Mother Veda Simms of Milan; brothers Joseph (Angela) Simms of Rochelle, Illinois, and Chad (Ashley) Simms of Rochelle, Illinois; 3 nieces; and 3 nephews.
Josh was preceded in death by his father Anthony Simms, grandparents, and mother of children Summer Bonecutter.
Family and friends may gather in remembering Josh from 10:00 AM- 12:00 PM, Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan. A service will immediately follow at 12:00 PM with Pastor Harris Long officiating. Memorials may be given in honor of Josh to the American Cancer Society or The Family.
