Joseph P. Ortman, age 81, of Brookville, Indiana died Sunday afternoon, March 1, 2020 at the Brookville Healthcare Center in Brookville.
Born October 8, 1938 in Franklin County, Indiana he was one of nine children born to the late Walter J. & Cecilia F. (Niedenthal) Ortman. He was a lifelong resident of Franklin County, and a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Brookville.
Survivors include four sisters, Rita M. Apsley, Mary Ann (Dale) Deffner, Eileen M. (James) Hyde, and Jennifer F. (Rene) Stivers all of Brookville, Indiana; a brother, Edward L. (Connie) Ortman of Brookville, Indiana as well as many nieces & nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert A. Ortman, Thomas H. Ortman, and James W. Ortman.
Private services will be officiated by Rev. Vincent Lampert. Burial will take place in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery in Brookville.
