John Walter Tice, 79, of Indianapolis, passed away on November 1, 2022. He was born on November 13, 1942 in Morgantown, West Virginia, the son of Omar and Hildred (Wagoner). John was a 1961 graduate of Tuscola Community High School (IL) and then went on to attend Radiation Tech School through Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. John served two years in the US Army before returning to Indiana where he worked in the radiology field at various locations before joining St. John’s Hospital in Anderson as an X-Ray Machine Technician and repairman for 24 years before retiring in 2007. John married his wife Susan (Hodges) on July 17, 1999. The two spent 20 loving years together until Susan’s passing in 2019.
John loved the outdoors and working with his hands.
Many of his handmade wooden gifts given to family, friends and his community will continue to carry on his legacy for many years to come.
Survivors include: Sons, Timothy Tice and Ray (Laura) Tice; Stepchildren, Shane (Jessica) Pugh and Ashleigh Pugh; Grandchildren, Paul Tice and Benjamin Tice; Sister Willa (Bill) Thiele as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; Sister, Nancy Tice Quick; Son, Charles Tice; Grandson, Graham Tice and Brother-in-law Gilbert Quick.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at the Wesley Free Methodist Church, 3017 W. 8th Street, Anderson, IN 46011 from 11:00 am until the time of Funeral at 1:00 pm. Rev. Jerran Jackson will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Friends Cemetery in Pendleton, Indiana.
