Joanna Lynn Eilers, age 46 of Everton

Joanna Lynn Eilers, of Everton, was born on January 4, 1979, in Cincinnati, OH, a daughter to Robert and Lowita Rieman Gauck. She married David Scott Eilers on December 21, 2011, in Brookville, and together they raised 4 beautiful children. On Friday, January 31, 2025, at the age of 46, Joanna passed away peacefully at Reid Health in Richmond.

Joanna’s legacy of selflessness endures beyond her passing, as she continues to make a profound impact on others through the life-saving gift of organ donation.

Joanna was, first and foremost, a devoted mother and protector (aka Mother Bear) to Katey, Mikey, Zeke, and Jake. Her face would light up with pride whenever she spoke of them, and her unwavering love and support helped shape them into the remarkable individuals they are today. As a wife, Joanna was a true partner to her husband Scott, sharing laughter, love, countless precious memories, and challenges with a bond that inspired those around them.

Throughout her life, Joanna touched many hearts as a sister, friend, and role model. Her ready smile, encouraging words, and ability to listen made her someone everyone could depend on. While her family always came first, Joanna’s big heart had room for every creature that crossed her path. Whether volunteering at the local animal shelter, stopping on the side of the road to rescue a dog or spending quiet moments with her own pets, Joanna found joy in caring for her furry companions. And let’s not forget her pride and joy on four wheels – that Ford truck she swore could outdo any other vehicle on the road!

Joanna had this incredible mix of gentle kindness and fiery spirit – a combination that made her unforgettable. She could comfort a crying child one minute and then passionately defend her beloved German Shepard clan the next! As sweet as she was, heaven help anyone who dared to mess with her kids or challenge her parking skills in that truck she loved so much.

Survivors who will cherish Joanna’s memory include her husband, David Scott; four children, Jackson, Zachary, Katelyn, and Michael; and one brother, David Gauck. Joanna was preceded in death by both of her parents, as well as one brother, Robert Gauck Jr.
