JoAnn Bate, went to be with the Lord on December 2, 2024. She was born on July 11, 1945 to Terry O. and Thelma (Becker) Mozingo. She was married to William L. Bate on December 11, 1963. He passed away September 18, 2020. Together they had three beautiful children.
JoAnn enjoyed being with her family and lots of get-togethers, especially with her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards, Bingo, games, and building things. She was a member of Sandcreek Baptist Church, where she held many offices.
She is survived by her children, Billie (David) Wager, Chris (Doris) Bate, and Tina (Marc) Lippens; one sister, Linda (Russell) Wilson (born on the same day, two years apart); her grandchildren, Logan (Sam) Wager, Dillon Wager, Rebekah (Evan) Leake, Andrew (Rachel) Lippens, Ashlyn Lippens, Jarrod Bate, and Sonya Bate; honorary grandchildren, Becky (Nick) Bredeweg, Hailey (Justin) Riddle, and Audrey (Tyler) Benson; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; brothers, Dale, Rollin and Melvin; and sister, Sharon Beckover.
The visitation for family and friends will be held at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral at 1:00 pm and burial to follow at Union Baptist Cemetery.
