Joan Carol (Hamant) Zoller, 81, of Moores Hill, passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at her home surrounded by her beloved family. Joan was born on Wednesday, August 30, 1939 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Albert C. Hamant and Della (Legere) Hamant. She attended Hughes High School and completed paralegal training at Cincinnati State. On Saturday, September 24, 1960, Joan married the love of her life, Ronald F. Zoller. Joan was a woman of many accomplishments. She served on the South Dearborn Community Schools Board of Trustees from 1980 to 2000, the R.S.V.P. Board of Directors, and the Board of Fairhaven Senior Housing in Lawrenceburg. Joan was active in the Moores Hill P.T.O., Milan/Moores Hill Cub Scouts, R.S.V.P. Pen Pal Program, and many other committees. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. Throughout her career, she spent 20+ years with attorney William Cody Kelly. She went on to work for Barron Peck Bennie & Schlemmer Attorneys, Douglas R. Denmure, and Dearborn Superior Court Judge, G. Michael Witte. Joan spent 3+ years working as a court reporter as well. Though Joan seemed to always be involved in her community and took pride in her achievements, nothing compared to how proud she was of her and Ronald’s sons- Jeff, Jim, and Joe.
Any free time Joan had was mostly dedicated to cooking, sewing, and reading. However, she also enjoyed gardening and could often be found doing crossword puzzles, too.
Joan will be dearly missed by her sons Jeff Zoller (Cindy Ollier) of Guilford, Jim (Jamie) Zoller of Erlanger, Kentucky, and Joe Zoller (Kelly Riehle) of Moores Hill; sister-in-law Nancy Hamant; grandchildren Jack (Isabella) Zoller, Jill Zoller, Lydia Zoller, Morgan Elder (Steven), Madison Krause (Jarret), Carly Jo Zoller, Makenna, Kiersten, and Kennedie Dixon. She spent many hours with her grandkids, running Grandma’s taxi service.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Zoller, her parents and her brother, Bill Hamant.
