More media are starting to pick up the good news for Batesville native, right-handed pitcher Bryan Hoeing.  MLB.com was first to report that Hoeing was to be taken off the 15-day injured list today.  Those stories have been confirmed, where they say Hoeing will be starting tonight for Miami against the White Sox.  CBS Sports now notes Hoeing’s been used as a starter quite a bit in the past, but this year so far had only been a reliever, except for a single-inning start during his rehab assignment in Jacksonville.  In the most recent rehab work to get over his left hamstring injury, Bryan threw 49 pitches over a couple innings.  It isn’t yet clear whether tonight will be a one-time deal, or if Hoeing might soon make more starts for the Marlins.

Our Rob Lafary reports this week that another Batesville alum in pro baseball, Zach Britton, has looked pretty good recently.  We get more details from WRBI’s Travis Lecher…

The Reds are back in Cincinnati to open a new series against the Tigers tonight, after sweeping the Yankees in New York.  The final there on the 4th was Reds 8, Yanks 4.  In each of the 3 games there, Cincy scored first, and with a home run.  They had 3 homers total Thursday, plus a 3-run triple.  Join us to see if they can capitalize on the momentum, when the broadcast begins at 6:40 this evening on the Sports Voice, 103.9 WRBI.

Hydroplane racing is planned this weekend on the Ohio River, at the annual Madison Regatta.  Five of the most powerful boats, the “unlimited” class, will be competing for the Governor’s Cup trophy.  Everyone there will be hoping things are just fast and not dangerous, since last year and in ’22, crashes in the competition sent drivers to the hospital and ended the event earlier than planned.

Remember Monday evening, we’ll again go into “Overtime,” with our friends Terrance Arney and Leon Smith.  And this week they’ll literally have a really big guest, in Lawrenceburg native and college wrestling champion Mason Parris, who’s a member of Team USA.  That’s Monday, just after our 6 pm news block, only on WRBI.
