It was no contest in baseball at Cincinnati last night, as the Reds hosted the Giants. San Francisco pitcher Blake Snell was on fire, throwing everything past Redleg batters, on his way to a complete game no-hitter, the final Giants 3, Reds nothing. It was only the 2nd no-hitter in the 20+ year history of the stadium, the first of Snell’s career, and the first time he’d ever even pitched into the 9th inning. Cincinnati had no answers, as Snell mowed them down with only 114 pitches, in a game that took just 2 hours 16 minutes to complete. It was also one of the rare occasions this season the Reds couldn’t do anything in the first game of a series. Congratulations to Snell and the Giants on their easy-looking win. The Reds will try again tonight, though, and this is the place for the broadcast. Join us for the action, the Giants visiting the Reds, with pregame coverage beginning at 6:45, on the Sports Voice, 103.9, WRBI.
The NFL’s Hall of Fame Game was played Thursday night this year, and they couldn’t get the whole game between the Bears and the Texans in– the game was called with about 3 ½ minutes left in the 3rd quarter due to severe thunderstorms and lightning, the Bears in the lead 21-17, so that was the final score.
The enshrinement ceremonies are set for early this afternoon in Canton, Ohio, and a man who played here in Indiana, the Colts’ big former number 93, Dwight Freeney, is one of the NFL legends going into the Hall this year. He was great at sacking quarterbacks, and could often get away from blockers with his spin move. Congratulations to new Hall of Famer Dwight Freeney, along with his fellow pass rusher Julius Peppers, linebackers Patrick Willis and Randy Gradishar, receiver Andre Johnson, kick returner Devin Hester, and defensive tackle Steve McMichael.

Molly Bruggeman, who attended Notre Dame, is a rower, part of the US 8-woman team. They’re in the finals for a medal today after advancing Thursday.
The Pacers’ Tyrese Haliburton is of course on the US men’s basketball team of NBA all-stars. They’ll play Puerto Rico around midday US time today, after blowing Serbia and South Sudan off the court in their first couple games.
