On Thursday’s getaway day for the Reds, the Phillies stymied them at Great American Ballpark, the final Philadelphia 5, Reds 0.  Pitcher Nick Martinez allowed 5 earned runs on 11 hits, through 6 innings.  Four Phillies scores in the 3rd pretty much sealed the loss, and Spencer Steer’s hitless streak now extends to his last 18 at-bats.  Tonight, after splitting that series 2 games apiece, the Reds get a fresh start in Texas, for 3 games with the Rangers, to be followed by 3 against the Padres in San Diego.  Join us for the broadcast this evening, starting at 7:35, only on the radio, at the Sports Voice, 103.9 FM, WRBI.

Tonight in pro hoops, the Pacers play Game 3 of their opening NBA post-season series against the Milwaukee Bucks.  After earning a split in Wisconsin, the Pacers should be in front of an enthusiastic home crowd at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.  Tipoff tonight is set early, at 5:30.

The first pick in the NFL draft, going to the Bears, was USC quarterback Caleb Williams.  The first defensive player taken was UCLA end Laiatu Latu, chosen by the Colts, and the 18th first-round pick by the Bengals was Georgia offensive tackle Amarius Mims.
