Jerry Burns Ratliff, age 68, of Laurel, Indiana died Saturday morning November 30, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his wife and family.
Born September 15, 1951 in Grundy, Virginia he was the son of the late William Burns & Opal May (McPeak) Ratliff. On November 22, 1969 he was united in marriage to the former Vickie Suzanne Lee, and she survives.
Jerry was retired, having been a truck driver for over 40 years. He was a man of many talents, and dearly loved his family & his dogs. In his leisure time he enjoyed racing, and building race cars and engines.
In addition to his wife of 50 years, Vickie, survivors include three children and their spouses, Tonya Sue (Keith) White of Laurel, Indiana, William Burns (Donna) Ratliff of Laurel, Indiana and Misty Lynn (Richard) Lewis of Laurel, Indiana; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elizabeth Pearson of Everton, Indiana and Sandy Luce of Liberty, Indiana; a brother Gary Ratliff of Liberty, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Nancy Gentry and Carolyn Ratliff, as well as a brother, William (Billy) Ratliff.
Family & friends may visit from 4 until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Buena Southern Missionary Baptist Church, 25220 Chapel Road, Laurel, Indiana.
Rev. Rob Edwards, pastor of the Buena Southern Missionary Baptist Church will officiate the Funeral Services on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, 11:00 A.M.; at the Church. Burial will then follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Rush County, Indiana.
